Right Click (Click with the right mouse button) on the Desktop. The following menu appears.

Left Click (Click with the left mouse button) on the properties option in the menu as shown in Figure A above.

This will bring up the following screen. (This screen is called the Display Properties Manager)

As illustrated in Figure B above, left click on the Settings Tab.

This will bring up the following screen.

Left click on the slider (The object highlighted in Figure C) and hold down on the left mouse button.
Drag your mouse to the right until the text beneath the slider changes from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768.
Left Click on Apply.
A dialog box will appear.

Left click OK in the dialog box.
Left click OK on the display properties manager you had opened in the previous steps.
If you have completed the afore-mentioned processes without error, you have updated your screen resolution.
