Introduction to Visual Basic for Programming

Microsoft Visual Basic 6 has emerged as the most popular environment for building full-featured Windows applications quickly and easily. The Visual Basic programming system empowers both novice and experienced developers to create applications that provide fast and effective solutions to pressing business needs.

This practical training provides the skills and knowledge required to fully exploit the features and capabilities of Visual Basic. During in-class hands-on exercises, you develop real-world Windows applications and integrate them using COM and other advanced techniques.

This training is valuable for software developers, analysts, programmers and power users who want to prototype, build and/or integrate Windows-based applications using Visual Basic. Familiarity with Windows is assumed; prior experience with macros or a scripting language is recommended. It is assumed that participants are familiar with programming concepts. Professional programming experience is not required.

Introduction to Visual Basic for Application Programming

For developers building a variety of applications, Visual Basic serves as a powerful tool for client/server database access and Web-based applications. Visual Basic's seamless integration with COM+ makes VB code more reusable than ever before.

It is assumed that the participant is already familiar with the Visual Basic programming language. The student must have professional experience in programming with Visual Basic or have attended the Introduction to Visual Basic for Programming class.

Advanced Visual Basic Programming

For developers building a variety of applications, Visual Basic serves as a powerful tool for client/server database access and Web-based applications. Visual Basic's seamless integration with COM+ makes VB code more reusable than ever before.

This intensive training builds on Visual Basic experiences, providing the advanced skills needed to develop multitier applications that query databases and execute in the COM+ runtime environment. In hands-on exercises, we use the full capabilities of Visual Basic 6 Enterprise Edition to develop distributed applications.

This training is valuable for Windows component developers, analysts, programmers, designers and technical managers. It is assumed that the student is already familiar with the Visual Basic programming language. The participant must have professional experience in programming with Visual Basic or have attended the Introduction to Visual Basic for Programming class.
