Surgical Technology Online Certificate Program
New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, RI has been preparing students for a wide range of technological careers for over 60 years. Now, New England Tech's Center for Technology and Industry (CTI) and the college's Surgical Technology department are proud to offer an ARC-ST approved, Surgical Technology Program. This on-line Accelerated Alternative Delivery (AAD) program would make you eligible* to take The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certifying exam. (NBSTSA was formerly known as LCC-ST) Those passing the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) exam will receive a nationally recognized credential, which documents your commitment to quality performance and quality patient care. You can qualify in 12 to 18 months, but you may take as long as 48 months from the time of enrollment to complete the program. For a list of completers Click Here Surgical Tech Photo

Surgical technologists interested in this program must fit into one of two groups:

  1. On the job trained surgical technologists who completed their training prior to March 1, 2000; or
  2. Formally trained surgical technologists who completed their education from a non-Commission on Accreditation of the Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program in surgical technology

The Program consists of the following steps:

  1. Application and Pre-assessment examination
  2. Work and Surgical Experience verification
  3. Online course work
  4. Program Assessment Examination (PAE)
